About Baltistan:

Baltistan is one of the three (3) divisions of Gilgit Baltistan provience. Capital of Baltistan is Skardu.

Baltistan covers 72,000 sq.km area & having 322,000 populations. There are  five (5 ) districts in Baltistan, named Ghanche, Shigar, Kharmang, Skardu & Dambudas. Baltistan religious ethnicity is mainly belongs to Shia sect of Islam. Demographically Baltistan is a blend of Balti, Tibetan, Monpas & few Kashmiris.

Baltistan climate has many variations. In summers the mercury may rise up to 30 Celsius & in winter it may drop down to 16 Celsius below 0 Celsius. Baltistan is also a rich geographical region having many features which are unique in this world. There will be very few regions in the world which offer deserts, lakes, rivers, oasis, Rocky Mountains, snow covered peaks, longest glaciers out of the Polar Regions & highest mountains in the world.

Baltistan is having one of the highest literacy rates in Pakistan. This reflects in the behaviors of its inhabitants. Generally people of this area are quite, calm & polite.

For tourists Baltistan is a famous arena for mountaineers, trekkers, excursion & historical tourists. Baltistan is home to more than 20 peaks of over 6,100 metres (20,000 ft), including K2 (the second-highest mountain on earth. Other well-known peaks include Masherbrum (also known as K1), Broad Peak, Hidden Peak, Gasherbrum II, Gasherbrum II, Gasherbrum IV and Chogolisa.

Baltistan is a rocky wilderness of around 72,000 square kilometers, with the largest cluster of mountains in the world and the biggest glaciers outside the Polar Regions. The Himalayas advance into this region from India, Tibet and Nepal, and north of them are the Karakoram Range. Both ranges run northwest, separated by the Indus River. Along the Indus and its tributaries are many valleys. Glaciers include Baltoro, Biafo, Siachen, Trango and Godwin-Austen glaciers.

Here tourists can enjoy lakes, like Upper Kachura Lake, Sheosar Lake, Blind Lake, Sadpara Lake.& Snow Lake. Except Snow Lake all are easily accessible by jeep but to attempt snow lake one must have hard trek experience.

Deosai is another interesting feature of this region, because Deosai is the world’s second highest plateau having 13,497 feet altitude. This place is also the habitat of Himalayan Brown Bears which is the endangered species in the world but here this sanctuary their number is growing.

Because of its historical & cultural ties with Tibet, Baltistan is also known as “Little Tibet”. This reflects in their architecture, culture & in the features of some of the people of this region.

This tour is designed for the adventure seekers who love outdoors & nature. This Jeep Safari Tour will start from Islamabad and during this tour we will be driving through lush green mountains of Himalayas, rocky mountains of Karakorum, we will pass through lakes, passes, deserts, plateaus, oasis. We will also be able to see cultural heritage of Baltistan.

Our journey will let us experience of many climatic zones, where we will experience cold, moderate & extremely hot climates. We will see stary nights, cloudy days, sunny days, cold nights.

Mainly this tour will be a great outdoor adventure & we will have fun during this whole tour.

Due to expectations of extreme weathers in some areas, we will recommend this tour for the persons from 15 years to 55 years, however you can judge your fitness and endurance level against cold and windy situations especially on Deosai plains.

Conditions to Travel:
Each participant should attach a CNIC copy with the form or B-form in case of age less than 18.
1. Without original CNIC/B-form no member will be able to come on board with us on any of the tour.
2. In case of demand of separate room services for couple or on honeymoon tours. Original Marriage Certificate should be shown to the management and kept along with original CNICs.
3. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the transport.
4. Immoral or character failing activities (including violent behavior, loose talk, verbal abuse, physical abuse, show off any weapon or any other immoral activity) will not be bearable. Which may lead to discontinuation of services for the individuals involved. Organizer/operator will not be responsible in any case. There will be no eligibility for a refund.
5. There is strict prohibition for drugs or party to drug sale indulgence. If found anyone on the trip indulged in any of these activities he/she will be expelled from the trip on the spot or may be handed over to the police where needed. There will be no eligibility for a refund.
6. During checking at check posts. Compass Tours and Treks will not be responsible if any kind of weapon or ammunition found with any of the participant. He/she will be expelled from the trip or may be handed over to the police where needed. There will be no eligibility for a refund.
7. Members will be encouraged to and should take care of littering and garbage, (disposal of personal goods should be taken special care of e.g. tins, bottles, bags, wrappers etc.) especially plastic items. There are fined imposed on many spots. Anyone charged by the local/official authorities for littering will be the responsibility of the individual participants. Organizers/operators will not be responsible for any kind of payment of fines/charges of the individual.
8. All of the trips are designed under consideration of time and are equally dependent on it. So, following the time frames are directly proportional to uninterrupted services. If someone found breaking the time schedule deliberately without any specific considerable reason (e.g. health issue), then, organizer/operator has equal right to take best decision which can make the trip equal enjoyable while maintaining the time frame (e.g. missing a destination). In such case the individual will be held responsible for the decision taken by the operator.
9. With rising altitude, steeper roads demand more power from the vehicle. In such cases Air Conditioner of the vehicle will be turned off to keep the vehicle in good health for uninterrupted services.
10. While taking care of every humanly possible safety of the tour. There are some reasons which are beyond the control of the hosts and beyond the control of human nature which may affect the itineraries e.g. weather, local politics, transport failure, land sliding, roadblocks, unforeseen natural disasters e.g. avalanches, craverse falls on the trek can result in a change in itinerary if necessary. Organizer/operator will take the best decision and will not be responsible for any change in services.
11. Damage to personal belongings, lost, theft will be individual’s responsibility and members are encouraged to keep personal belongings as safe as possible. In such cases, organizers will not be held responsible.
12. Organizers reserve the right to use event photos for electronic/digital media.
